GoTagSale is an easy, secure, inexpensive place to sell items online to local shoppers

Frank Gauthier, COBOL programmer extraordinaire planned GoTagSale many years ago.  He was traveling full time in an RV throughout the Southwest and believed an electronic bulletin board would be a great way for folks to search locally and find what they need.  The entire GoTagSale site is written in COBOL which is not a dying computer language (contrary to the opinion of some).  There are more than 300 programs running the site and it’s an evolving project.

Kaeth Shaughnessy Gauthier has shopped at thousands of tag sales and found wonderful bargains and treasures.  However, she doesn’t really like grubbing around in moldy basements.  She often discovered that someone at her church wanted to sell something, just after Kaeth paid full price at a retail store.

We were appalled to find that it would cost more than $50 to list an item for sale for three days in a print newspaper.  While it was also posted on the paper’s website, this seemed an unreasonable expense for limited time.  A popular on-line bulletin board has been in the news for posting pornography and unsavory services for sale.

Both of us have a passion for helping non-profit organizations.  We have volunteered for and supported many local and national groups.

These experiences led to GoTagSale.  There is a very low price for 30 days of posting ($8 per month for unlimited items including photos).  Each ad and photo is looked at before going live and anything objectionable is declined.  You can find local people who have what you need.  And…50% of every $8 fee is donated by GoTagSale to a non-profit organization.
